Why you need magnetic gripper?

What can the magnetic gripper do?
Zoomlion is a manufacturer of heavy machinery and equipment, including construction machinery and fire-fighting equipment. The process of manufacturing these machines requires frequent handling of steel. The efficiency of their production requirements would be far from adequate if they relied on human labour. The tools needed for automated manufacturing are therefore essential.
This company ordered from HVR MAG a set of magnetic grippers consisting of 4 magnetic modules, mounted on a gantry robot and used to grip structural steel. The magnets are V-shape to match the angles. This magnetic gripper is not only used for steel handling, but also for palletizing the steel after cutting. Feedback from the customer is that the magnetic grippers have made this production line fully automatic.
Advantages of HVR magnetic gripper
- Energy saving. Made of electric permanent magnets, they use electricity only at the moment of magnetisation and demagnetisation, which is highly energy efficient.
- High safety. Electromagnets require constant power to maintain magnetic force. But the electro-permanent magnet is different. So you don’t have to worry about losing magnetism due to high coil temperatures or sudden power cuts when using an electric permanent magnet gripper.
- Intelligent control. The magnetising and demagnetising operations are intelligently controlled by the robot and do not require human supervision.
- Space saving. The magnetic force is strong but the size is compact so it does not take up much space.
