The application of lifting magnets in shipyards is necessary. The modern shipbuilding process is mainly divided into several processes, such as design, raw material preparation, hull steel pretreatment, component processing, hull assembly, welding, testing, and launching. And almost every process involves handling raw material steel plates. However, in the process of lifting and handling in shipyards, traditional lifters such as slings, wires, and ropes, often cause steel to fall off due to lifting tool problems, which can cause serious personal injury and equipment damage accidents. If you are encountering similar problems, then the HVR MAG lifting magnet can save you from them.
HVR MAG will customize magnetic lifting solutions according to your different product specifications, effectively helping you solve the problems of handling steel plates whilst ensuring safety. Magnetic lifters take only 0.1~2 seconds to switch on the magnet. And the magnetic force does not need electric power to maintain during the handling process, so it does not lose magnetism when the power is off, that’s why you do not have to worry about safety, say workpiece falling, during the handling process. Besides, the magnet lift has an operational panel on the lifter, as well as a remote control, which is very convenient and fast.
Application Scenarios of lifting magnets in shipyards:
1. Use the lifting magnet for unloading steel sheets. The first stage of the shipbuilding process in the unloading workshop is to determine the shape, quantity, and quality of the steel required for shipbuilding according to the engineer’s designed and designated place (the location design on the drawing is put into the field location).
2. Carry the uneven steel plates to the plate leveler to make them flat sheet metal.
3. Load the flat steel plates to the steel plate pretreatment equipment for surface rust removal and then primer. Because if we don’t do pretreatment, the steel very easy to rust, and the plates will rot at least 1/10 when the ship is built.
4. The rusted steel to the steel plate pretreatment line for edge processing.
5. The steel plates to the press for heavy forming.
6. The steel plates to the large diameter medium frequency bending machine to make some elbow-shaped components required for shipbuilding.
7. Load the steel plates to the cutting machine for edge processing of the steel plate.
8. Load the steel sheets to the drilling machine to drill the steel plate so that the steel plate components can be assembled.
9. Steel loading to the shipping platform, and the whole hull assembly according to the specified lifting order. Painting operation of the hull in the final assembly plant.
10. Steel plates were lifted to the painting workshop for hull painting.
