In the manufacturing industry, we often encounter manual labor inconveniences, such as high temperature, high altitude, high product diversity, high load, high repetition rate, etc. Some companies will consider robots or trusses for these working stations. So here I’d like to introduce the application of EPM in special environments.
Heavy Load and High-Temperature Environment:
1, A large heavy industry company needs to carry 80KG steel structures for welding in high-temperature environment. How did HVR MAG give the functional design of the robot arm magnetic gripper to achieve it?
HVR MAG adopted 2 sets of HEPMP-2715P45X12-GW high temperature resistant electro-permanent magnets coupled to the robot to carry the 80kg square tube structural parts (F80X80X wall thickness 6-8mm) to the fixture group welding to achieve automated handling of loading and unloading.
Under normal circumstances, high temperature will lead to magnetic weakening, largely affecting the space for the magnetic force to play. Here, HVR MAG added cooling system in the electro permanent magnet to ensure the magnets were cooled down and became high temperature resistant. Thus the robotic arm magnetic grippers can meet the customer’s working conditions. HVR MAG has experience designing and manufacturing EPM (electro permanent magnets) that can work properly in environments up to 650 ℃.
Special shaped Steel Structure Condition:
2, The customer needed to carry shaped steel parts, while ordinary flat-shaped electro permanent magnet module has not enough adsorption. Considering the load of the customer’s robot, HVR MAG designed the magnet with maximum adsorption surface but the minimum weight, in order to meet the customer’s normal handling needs. This lifting magnet has V-shaped contact surface for loading the heavy round steel. It is battery-powered. Once fully charged, it can be used for about 800 times of “MAG” & “DEMAG”.
No Hard Contact Environment:
3, Sometimes hard contact between customer’s product and the electro permanent magnet should be avoided, otherwise it will hurt the product surface, affecting the product quality. With a guaranteed magnetic force, HVR MAG keeps the contact surfaces intact by adding appropriate industrial springs. This greatly increased the customer’s yield rate.
