Features of this 40t steel sheet lifter
There are some differences between this steel sheet lifter and our regular products. Normally our steel lifters do not have to handle such heavy steel sheets, so several magnets can be hung on either side of the beam. This multi-point suction ensures that the sheet is subjected to an even force and does not overload the hoist. However, when dealing with thick steel plates, we have to design for greater magnetic forces. This makes it necessary to increase the contact area of the magnets. What can be done to make the steel lifter both strong enough and not too bulky?
HVR MAG’s technical team designed this steel plate lifter for the customer. It has a relatively compact design. Three large magnet modules are suspended on the beam. The three large magnets have a number of electro-permanent magnetic poles arranged inside, but from the outside they look very simple. Isn’t that what industrial design is all about? Ensuring greater performance while making the structure more flexible and simple.
Except the optimisation of the structure and shape, the performance of the HVR MAG steel sheet lifter is outstanding. For safety, we have a landing detection and a safety lock. The machine cannot perform a demagnetize operation unless the lifer detects a safe landing status. The safety lock button and the demag button must be pressed simultaneously to start the demagnetization process. These two main safety features ensure the safety and stability of the steel plate handling. They prevent the steel plate from falling due to improper operating.
Advantages of electro-permanent magnets
The lifting magnet made of electro-permanent magnets also do not need to worry about loss of magnetism. As the current only acts as a switch for magnetisation and demagnetisation. In other words, the HVR MAG steel sheet lifter is only powered for a few seconds during magnetisation and demagnetisation, not during the movement of the plate. There is absolutely no safety risk of a sheet falling off due to electrical failure.
In addition to safety, speed and energy efficiency, our steel sheet lifter has many other advantages. It is very simple and easy to use. It can be operated remotely or from the panel of the beam. The level of magnetic force can be adjusted. The indicator light keeps the operator and neighbouring workers informed of the lifer’s working status and facilitates cooperation. It does not get hot even after prolonged use and the magnetic force is stable. Low maintenance costs, just check from time to time that the connection between the chain and the magnet is tight and free from looseness and cracks.
